On my way from school to my home, I used to make dolls and animals by snow. Also in the yard, we used to make a slope and a hut called “kamakura” by snow. That was part of an everyday life in a snow region.

57回目だった。すごい！そんなに昔に始まったなんて知らなかった。雪国に住む人々の知恵だと思う。雪のある生活を楽しむという前向きな考え方である。
学校から家に帰る途中で、よく雪で人形や動物を作ったものだ。また家の庭に雪で坂を作ったり、『かまくら』とよばれる小屋を作ったものだ。それが雪国の日常生活のひとこまだった。
